The biggest concern faculty have about AI tutoring is straightforward: how do I know the AI is teaching correctly? Without verification, AI tutors become black boxes that might provide incorrect information, fabricated sources, or explanations that contradict course materials.
Large language models can generate plausible-sounding but incorrect information. In consumer applications, this is an inconvenience.
