That is the product. Not a stack of chat windows with a campus logo. Not middleware sitting over tools a department already bought. One product an institution can actually review.

If it can't be verified, it doesn't ship.

Campuses were already stacking AI

Campuses were already stacking AI tools. Different tutors per department, different vendors, different rules. Faculty picked what they could. Students got a different assistant in every class.

Nobody could see the whole picture.

That is not a small inconvenience. It is how a campus loses track of its own teaching. One college tries a tutor. Another tries a different one. Advising picks a third. Each assistant works from a different set of files, or from none. Students move from class to class and meet a new voice, a new set of rules, and no shared record of what they were told.

The institution is still responsible for the teaching. The tools are not. When the picture is split this way, no one can answer a simple question with one look: what is this campus teaching with AI, and from whose materials? That split is the opposite of one product a campus can review.

That is the problem TUEL was built for. One product an institution can actually review. One place to look.

One product you can review

TUEL is not a pile of chat windows. It puts approved course materials under the assistant, gives faculty control per course, and keeps a record of what the system did.

Responses are grounded in the course materials the faculty uploaded.

Faculty control stays with the course. The same product can serve many classes without turning them into one generic tutor. A statistics course is not a writing seminar. The instructor for each course decides what the assistant may do there. The materials differ. The rules should differ.

Control here is not a catalog of switches. It is how faculty keep the teaching theirs when students have an assistant after hours. Without that, the campus has a second teacher nobody assigned.

The record is there because a credit-bearing class cannot run on an unchecked box. Someone has to be able to see what the system did. If it cannot be checked, it should not ship.
